as any good aggie father would do, jarod said an aggie baby dress was a definite “must have”… so like all good parents who desire aspiring sprouts we quickly placed the perfect $22 accessory on the registry.
then the amazing happened. we happened to be in a neighboring city when we found ourselves with 30 minutes to spare before our next meeting. so jarod suggested that we go one block over to the exhibition center. this is one of those places you can literally spend hours. i have done this myself on a few occasions & though i’m always excited to peruse the export brands (such as esprit) – surprisingly enough i tend to walk out empty handed. this time, however, was very different!
jarod suggested we browse the baby section & for the second time in 1 breath i said “wow!” within our first few minutes we snagged some real goodies: an old navy onsie, plain pink pants (unheard of in these parts), jarod hand picked a dress, and then the big one…
i couldn’t believe my eyes when i pulled that maroon skirt off the overstuffed rack to reveal a cheerleading dress with texas a&m embroidered on it! i quickly called for jarod to join me, the whole time giving away my excitement. there was no way we would have been able to bargain with the smiles on our faces! the sales lady couldn’t understand what all the excitement was about, but there was no holding us back – we were going to get that dress even if the price was outrageous… but it wasn’t! for a mere $3.75 we walked out of there very satisfied customers! and to top it all off – the 1 baby aggie dress in all of the big C (for all we know) was the exact size we had registered for – 12 months!
that was by far the most amazing 30 minutes of my entire shopping career!!!
thanks be to Dad for even the tiniest of blessings!
