i’m happy (& oh-so-thankful!) to report that things have lightened up here!
the new guards have relaxed a bit since their first days on the job.
this sort of crazy-over-the-top scrutiny and adhering to a strict (& often unwritten and counter-productive) code of ridiculousness conduct tends to happen when there’s a shift in management… or in our case, a shift in management and the replacing of gate guards.
poor guards. who can blame them? they were new on the job… surely trying to impress their employer… and they were merely following orders. albeit, insane orders, but orders none-the-less.
so now that the hoopla is over i’m happy to report that we’re in good standing with the new guards… who now unlock and open the gate for us when we’re leaving and coming. niiiiiice.
and i’m ecstatic to report that our friends no longer have difficulty getting into our “compound” for a visit.
of course, all of this good standing has been made possible by none other than our own pair of adorableness who politely say “thank you” with a wave, or at least, in liberty’s case, a cursory glance their direction.
too bad the landscaper still isn’t in good standing with the guards… they’re a nifty bunch to have on your side…
plus, i would seriously appreciate the added bonus of a well groomed courtyard.
