jennifer and i were at a little shop and we noticed a “help wanted” sign.
we found it humorous, but typical – so we decided to translate it for you the best we know how…but there’s no good way to do it…you’ll see…
help wanted
shift manager: 2 females, 25-45, willing to “eat bitterness and patiently endure hard labor”, willing to “strive for excellence”, “must have work”, salary $125/month
waiter: male or female, unlimited number, 25-35, willing to “eat bitterness and patiently endure hard labor”, willing to “strive for excellence”, salary $75/month + incentives
as with all service type positions in our city, the staff gets the “opportunity” to live at the work place, and usually only gets 1 day off per month with each work day lasting about 12 hours. joy…
i wonder how many houstonians would go flocking to the interview if this ad were put in the houston chronicle? hmm…
I’ll bring a copy of my resume Thursday 🙂
